The Man Behind the Market

It’s no surprise that Don Rhodes has always had a heart for Alabama seafood - after all, he did grow up in “the seafood capital of Alabama”. Growing up in Bayou La Batre, Don developed a passion for fishing and spent many weekends angling on the local waters. Of course, it wasn’t all fun and fishing - he also spent many summers working as a deckhand on shrimp boats, eventually working his way through every seafood business in the city.

Today, those same businesses help supply Ahi Seafood Market with fresh local seafood. Don is proud to partner with local businesses and his fellow fishermen to provide fresh, high-quality seafood to the Eastern Shore. When he isn’t manning the market, Don still enjoys casting a line for his own delicious Gulf Coast catch.
